GEORGE LEECH – The Passing of a legend

Sadly my Father in Law George Leech Passed away peacefully last week aged 91.

George had worked in the film business since the 1940’s doubling such famous people as James Mason , Laurence Olivier, Bob Hope, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Robert Duvall, he was also a Common wealth games boxer, a gymnast and high diver and of course a great swimmer. He brought all these attributes to the film business and was responsible for some of the greatest fight and action sequences ever filmed, He gave me my first insight into the World of Bond by employing me on “You Only Live Twice” in 1966 and set me on the road to success.

George was always the “Gentleman” of the stunt business, a tough but very considerate boss and it is due to his amazing work through out the years that formed the action style that James Bond has to this day. George as well as being an accomplished actor also Stunt Coordinated many movies amongst them “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” which for many years was considered to have the best action in a Bond and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”

George’s funeral is being held at 2.45pm on Friday the 29th of June at The Thornhill Crematorium,(Wenault Chapel), Thornhill Road, Rhiwbina,Cardiff CF14 9UA

This is one of the last photo’s taken of George and I will post more pictures of George when things have settled down a little. RIP George
