I just got the news in the mail today - tucked inside a Christmas card signed by my dear friend. I am so sad and cannot imagine the pain you are all feeling.

It's a long time since 1977 and a long way from Cayton Park and yet that didn't matter. We were just two moms so proud of our families. In the early days I babysat her little ones and my husband played Santa one snowy Christmas Eve. She knit him the most wonderful sweater and showed me how to make fried bananas and later summer pudding. She gave us lavendar pillows at our wedding.

She is the kindest, gentlest should I've ever known.

I am so sorry not have come to the funeral. I hadn't known she was sick.

So sorry to hear of this loss, I can't believe its a year since you posted Di's Warhorse painting.
I will be thinking of her and the painting when I go see the film.
Kind Regards, Colin.

Vic sorry I couldn't be there in England to pay my respects but you knew how much I cared for sweet Diana. I still loved Xmas eve at her thatch roof cottage...looking at the pic's of the beautful horse drawn carriage and those stunning animals,,,,I think Diana was looking down from Heaven enjoying the large gathering of friends and family that she so rightfully deserved and earned with the kind of wonderful person she was.....take care and have a great Xmas even though it's emptier this year.
Vic
I was blessed to be considered a friend to Di. I loved her company when she came to LA. She listened intently to what ever i had to say, then gently and quietly ,would offer guidence. I will miss her dearly.
You are all within my thoughts and prayers at this time.
Regards
Neil Phillips

Jeez, Vic, this is just horrible. Losing family is the worst kind of pain. I don't really know the correct thing to say here. I'm sorry that life has dealt you and your family this blow. I hope you still have a merry xmas, and a brighter 2012.

5 month's notice hardly gives you time to prepare for the fight, but cancer has never fought to Marquess of Queensberry rules.

Greatly saddened by the news.

Arthur
