  10. stephen moorhouse Says:

hello vic i am a 16 year old boyfrom huddersfield and ever since i was younger i have trained in acrobatics and martial arts and also hope to continue doing so. i am still wondering how i may be able to get into the stunt buisness. i am going to make a video of my skills and send it of to a stunt coordinator showing all the stunts a can do but also doing them in a safe and healthy enviroment. If you have any information on how i may be able to fullfill my dream please send me some email thank you. ino you are a busy person so if you dont get back to me thank you for reading my message.

  11. vic Says:

Hi Stephen, coincidently my fight coordinator Mike Lambert is from Huddersfield. Basically to become a stuntman in the UK you should become a member of the stunt register, which is part of the actor’s union Equity. And you must become a member of Equity 1st then apply to the Stunt Register, you will then have to attain around 7 skills which vary from horse riding to fighting. A stunt coordinator can also hire you if you have a specialized skill that is needed and no one else that has that special skill is available. It is a hard and long road but for the dedicated and skilled performer it is worthwhile. Good luck and keep training in that SPECIAL skill. Best Vic

  23. Paul Ashmore Says:

    Hi Vic,

    greetings from Bamford, Derbyshire, UK.

I can’t tell you how much I admire your work, and the dedication and balls you must have shown down the years to create some of the greatest actions scenes ever. I’ve actually just finishing reading Big Pat Roach’s autobiography which mentions you frequently, you and him must have been good mates back in the day. I was wondering if you had any snaps of you and Pat you could post up here – it would be great to see some more pics of two of my movie heroes together.

    Best wishes

    Paul Ashmore

  24. Vic Says:

Hello Paul, yes Pat Roach and I go way back and we have fought on so many movies from commercials in the late 60′s to “Never say Never Again” to “Raiders” and the “Temple of Doom” etc.
He was a guest on my “This is Your Life”. I do have some photo’s of us together but they are in the UK and I am in LA for a while but as soon as I get back i will post them. Thanks for remembering him. Best wishes Vic

    Hi Vic.

I’m Nicolás Suszczyk, member of the Argentinean James bond Fan Club Bondcollection. I want to congratulate for your job in the films, and tell you that you’re a great stunt coordinator.

It would be a honour for me and everyone at the site if we can have a short online interview (no more than 10 questions) sometime for the site. You can awnser them via mail.

Thanks in advance, and congratulations again!

  28. Vic Says:

Hi Nicolas, it would be a pleasure. I am nearly finished shooting the GREEN HORNET and then i start THOR so anytime really would be OK. Let me have the questions and lets go from there.Regards Vic
PS i ove your country and I had a great time there on THE MISSION

  29. Nigel Foster Says:

    Dear Vic,
I work for Ransom Publishing. We publish (fun/exciting) educational reading books for reluctant and struggling readers – so mostly disadvantaged kids. We’re doing a series of full-colour illustrated books on amazing occupations. One is called Stuntman. We had a draft copy, but the MD veto’d it – too boring – not enough explosions etc. Can you help? Please!!! We need access to some good pics, and permission to use them in the book.
And now we’re in a hell of a rush; but we can turn the pics into a book in about 2 days, if we get the go-ahead.
And we haven’t got much dosh – we’re a tiny company, and I haven’t been paid for 6 months (seriously).
Please can you help Vic? Pull some strings for us? Or maybe you have lots of pics of your own? We don’t need to take up your time – if you would kindly say yes, we can do the rest.
You’ve got my email – very much hope to hear from you.
    Best wishes,

    Nigel

  30. Nicolás Suszczyk Says:

Thanks Vic. I’ll send you the questions soon. Thanks for agreeing!

BTW, if you come to Argentina sometime, you should met our HQ sometime…

  31. Nicolás Suszczyk Says:

    The questions…

1 – First of all, everyone at Bondcollection want to tank you for accepting the interview, and we want to thank especially to the Internet which allows a group of Bond fans to contact a very important person in the story of 007 like you. We know that the first film in which you participated was You Only Live Twice. How have you been contacted to appear in the film and what are your memories of the set of Blofeld’s volcano lair? It was as enormeous as everyone says?

2 – Forty years ago On Her Majesty’s Secret Service premiered, and you doubled George Lazenby skiing in Switzerland. How risky were those scenes for you and what do you think of the film’s popularity after four decades?

3 – In the unnofficial film, Never Say Never Again, your wife Wendy Leech, who’s also daughter of George Leech, the historic stuntman and co-ordinator of the movies, made an appearance. It was in the set of Never Say Never Again where you met her?

4 – You were promoted to second unit director in 1997′s Tomorrow Never Dies. How was your relationship with director Roger Spottiswode, and with Pierce Brosnan?

5 – In Tomorrow Never Dies, stuntman Jean Pierre Goy and your wife doubled for Pierce Brosnan and Michelle Yeoh motorbike escape scene. The most memorable part was when Jean Pierre jumps with the bike avobe Carver goons’ helicopter. Even tough the propellers where CGI, Everybody looked nervious in the footage of that scene. How risky was that scene?

6 – Roger Spottiswoode was experienced in action movies, unlike Michael Apted, director of The World Is Not Enough. It was complicated to work with a director who is not experienced in action/adventure films?

7 – Die Another Day is, up to date, your last Bond film. As a second unit director, What can you say to those who think the action scenes in the film was very unrealistic?

8 – What do you think of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace and why haven’t you worked on that films?

9 – In your opinion, Marc Forster was a good director? Many of us think that because of his inexperience in thrillers allowed second unit director Dan Bradley to exceed in Jason Bourne like style techniques that not always fit with the Bond style.

10 – Talk us a little about your next projects. Is any of them including Argentina as a location?

  32. Roachie Says:

Hi Vic, Years ago Micheal, Ian and myself showed you around Rainbow beach north of Noosa. Would be happy to show you more of this beautiful country-side if your ever visiting the area. Respect

  33. Vic Says:

Hi Roachie, i would love to come back to OZ sometime soon. there have been a couple of offers but nothing panned out. It is such a beautiful p[lace and full of fun people. I will take you up on the offer sometime i hope. Warm regards Vic

  38. Colin Says:

    Hi Vic,
if you are able to, please could you post some Raiders photos? Especially of Tunisia or Micky Moore.

  39. Vic Says:

I do not have too many photo’s of Raiders and as I am publishing a book next year the publishers want to save some for that, but I will have a look and see if I can find one of Mickey when I get back from here (Shreveport Louisiana USA). Best Vic

  40. Vic Says:

Hi Michael, sorry I missed the show but as usual I was travelling. I amy have something happening in OZ next year so lets keep in touch and hook up again. Keep up the good work with all your Doco’s they are brilliant Best wishes Vic
