Vic’s most recent work took him to New Zealand to film the Amazon Prime series ‘The Rings of Power’. Vic acted as a supervising figure for all action coordination across the series, directing the ‘Eagle’ Unit that worked closely in conjunction with other directors working across the show and covered action, technical and 2nd-Unit filming for all episodes. Inspired by and adapting from the countless stunt performances across his career, Armstrong used various references from his history of credits when conceiving and proposing action sequences to Writer’s and Showrunners on ‘The Rings of Power’. A particular suitability for the series came from Vic’s affinity and lifelong experience working with horses, which lent itself well to the world of Tolkien. The Númenor army’s charge scene from Season 1 episode ‘Udon’ was a prime example of this, made particularly difficult by precise timing and lighting requirements.

Vic has since completed Season 2 on ‘The Rings of Power’, and after taking a brief hiatus in Ireland to film ‘Wednesday (S2)’ for Netflix, he’s returned to Middle-Earth - currently filming Season 3.
